Rosemarine Textiles mini artist residency - stay a week in our home and share our studio space.

Rosemarine Textiles Artist Residency

I’ve been dreaming up new ways to connect and share my space with others. I have this idea to start a little artist residency - I’d like to have a couple guests come and stay and then we’ll see how it goes!! Detroit is such a magical city bursting with creativity and inspiration and I’d love to host fellow artists in my home and share my studio. If you’re interested, please fill out the application below.

Are you interested in visiting Detroit? Are you a creative person who enjoys meeting new people and working in a studio space? Are you nice and respectful and fun? Come stay with Meg and Justin at their home in Detroit for a week and share their studio space. This is an opportunity to utilize a studio space, explore a new place and it’s creative offerings, host a workshop, artist talk or some kind of activity in the space, sell your work in the front of the studio, cultivate space from your day-to-day life if you’re feeling in a rut and need a new setting. Detroit is the motor city and a car is useful but not required. There is some public transit and also car services like lyft. We have a car and are able to drive all of us to and from the studio. You can also borrow our bikes if you wish. Or bring your own car. There is a bus from the airport that drops you off 1 block from our house that costs $2 but we might be able to pick you up! $200 for the week includes room, shared groceries and art space.

Ideas of types of activities to host at the studio:

  • Textile workshops: knitting, quilting, weaving

  • Artist talk

  • Workshop in how to create something

  • Clothing swap

  • Mending night

  • Potluck dinner

  • Sharing circle

  • Host a show of some kind

  • Practice or teach yoga
