Rosemarine Textiles First Birthday!
On this day last year I launched Rosemarine Textiles! It’s been such a great year of growth, learning and connecting with all of you. This truly is my business dream - I get to have so much fun being creative with photo shoots, blog content, making different products, and hosting pop ups.
Here’s a look back at year one….
We were featured in several publications!
We hosted TWO amazing pop ups - one at the old studio in Eastern Market last summer, and a holiday sample sale back in December at the current studio. We had generous donations from Eastern Market Brewing, Blake’s Cider, Neu Kombucha, and Detroit Brewing Company. Thanks to them, we were able to provide free drinks. We had a number of amazing local vendors, music and lots of fun :)
We co-hosted a panel with The Glossary featuring Detroit women creative business owners at our Eastern Market studio. What an amazing experience! It was hot AF that day. We had just gotten air conditioning installed but it took a little to figure out that it wasn’t hooked up! Thankfully we got it working. A room full of people on the 5th floor in a Detroit summer is a very sweaty look. There was so much positive momentum from this event - I can’t wait to do more panels and educational events in the future. I love learning from fellow business owners and sharing nuggets of wisdom with aspiring entrepreneurs.
We sent 16 newsletters to 150 of you! Note: if you’d like to receive the newsletters, you can join the list here.
I wrote 20 (!!) blog posts, including behind-the-scenes of photo shoots, interviews with local Detroit creatives, some of my favorite podcasts, and more. I absolutely love writing blog posts; sharing stories and inspiration is one of my favorite things to do. I’m really excited for some new ideas to try in year #2!!
I have worked out of two different studio spaces. Hopefully I will not have to move again for a while!!
I launched a scarf collection of naturally dyed cotton and wool gauze scarves!
I participated in countless photoshoots with some amazing creative people including Mo Neuharth, Naomi Ning, Anastasia Cheatham, Erin Hannum, Evelyn Block, Libby Trajkovski, Lailani Ledesma, Julia Griffin, and so many more!
Just wow!! It’s been such a busy first year. I have learned so much about how to run a creative small business and I’m continuing to learn everyday. I’m so thankful for the continued support from my family, my partner, my friends and my community. Thank YOU so much for reading this blog, purchasing Rosemarine Textiles products, subscribing to the newsletter, coming to events, connecting on social media, and leaving reviews. I truly pour my heart and soul into Rosemarine Textiles, and knowing that it resonates with others out there is so rewarding for me.
