Terracotta is a romantic warm clay color, popular for bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. This ribbon is made of 100% silk which lends a lovely drape. Available in both chiffon (more matte and translucent) and habotai (more smooth and lustrous). Shown in habotai. Dyed with the wood of the acacia tree and the quebracho tree. Made to order.
Our ribbons are made using 100% silk and are hand torn, plant dyed and rolled onto wooden spools. The lightweight silk creates a beautiful drape for wrapping a bouquet, invitations or for styling. If you are looking for longer length options or bulk ordering please get in touch via our contact form here. All 5 yard lengths come on a wooden spool and in a reusable cotton drawstring pouch. 1 yard cuttings are folded but not spooled.
Please select Sample Shipping at checkout for 1 yard sample lengths. Local pickup available upon request. Return your wooden spool to us after using up the ribbon to receive a $7 credit towards your next order.
Plant dyes create deep and complex shades that seem to subtly change with the light. Although the same recipe is used for each batch, no two ribbons will be identical in color. Each step in the process of crafting this ribbon is done intentionally by hand in our Detroit studio. The result is an organic color and lightly textured ribbon that adds romantic and delicate beauty to any end use.
All ribbon is steamed and hand rolled onto wooden spools before sending to you. Should the ribbon become wrinkled, feel free to use a hair straightener or low heat iron to gently press. Ribbon can be handwashed using a pH neutral soap in tepid water. We recommend using Dr. Bronner's castile soap and hanging to dry. Should any threads come loose simply clip carefully to remove.
We utilize sustainability conscious practices to limit water wastage and recycle greywater for plant watering. We work with restaurants to collect food waste to create beautiful dyes from onion skins and avocado pits, as well as with florists to utilize leftover flowers from events. All plant material is composted after dyeing. Rosemarine Textiles is committed to sustainable and ethical sourcing of all fabrics, dye materials and packaging. All packaging can be reused or recycled. Please feel free to contact us for any questions regarding our sustainability policies.
